This morning Paula Deen, renowned Southern chef came out with her diabetes. Apparently she has been diagnosed for three years now but kept it a secret until the time she would have "something" to bring to the table... That "something" just happens to be a multi-million deal with a diabetic drug company to promote her pills. At first when I heard last week about the rumors, I thought she hid it because she didn't want to be scrutinized for her cooking habits, after all cooking burgers with doughnut buns does scream "DIABETES PLEASE"... and they have brought her a lot of money.
That part doesn't frustrate me, any American should realize that her recipes are not healthy and should not be a part of a normal diet.
What does get me is that I feel Paula sold herself short... instead of saying listen this is what I have... and to get better I am going to change my life with exercise and healthier eating she decided to take millions to push a pill.
That's not a role model, and that's not someone I stand behind. Type 2 Diabetes can be reversed, and just because you take a pill now doesn't mean you have to for the long run. But that doesn't happen on its own which I am sure Paula Deen's doctor (if he's a good one) has told her...
But this is just one crazy trainer's opinion... Watch and make up your own mind (click to go to MSN)
I found this video on a fellow blogger's site, SarahFit and I had to share it immediately! It's a hoot, and I was cracking up watching it... really! Dan just gave me the "what the hell" look!
There are days when I look at my workout clothes sitting on the bathroom floor and I just genuinely don't want to put them on. It's cold, or I'm sore from a previous workout, or maybe I just don't want to workout because I just don't want to...
The point is we all have those days, even me and I LOVE to workout!
I need a pick me up, someone to light a fire under my arse and tell me to get the heck up and moving. For that fire I have been turning to Pinterest. I search for motivational fitness images and I am always pumped up to go!
Here are a few of my favorites finds! I hope they have the same affect on you as they do on me!

I came across Georgia's obesity campaign this morning and couldn't help but to share it! Watch this video and decide for yourself if the state is being a bit too hard on their obese children population?
Is this a good idea or are they going a bit too far with their methods?
I love learning mindless fun facts, if nothing else you're able to say: "Hey, did you know..."
So here are my New Years Fun Facts!
"Auld Lang Syne was written in 1741 and means "Days gone by", we sing it as midnight signaling the start of a new year.
Some cultures eat certain food for wealth, luck and prosperity: Donuts; Black-eyed peas, cabbage, collard greens, and rice... In my house we eat collard greens for wealth and black-eyed peas for luck.
Resolutions date back to the Babylonians
The Rose Parade started in 1890 to celebrate blossoming oranges in California
1907 was the first year New York dropped it's ball.
It was not dropped in 1942 or 1943 because of WWII wartime lighting restrictions.
The first people you see 12 are symbolic to the year you'll have... friends versus enemies; good luck versus bad luck.
Happy 2012... time to start thinking about what you want to accomplish in the upcoming year!
