The Worst Restaurant Foods From 2010
Taylor Ryan
It always amazes me how obesity is becoming more and more of an issue yet restaurants continue to pump out more and more junk. Here are some of the most ridiculous foods from 2010 served up in real restaurants. If you see one you've had before don't feel guilty, just walk away from it in the future. The Blimpie Vegetarian Sandwich.
Sounds healthy right? Not so fast, in fact it has over 1,100 calories, 59 grams of fat and a whopping 3,540 mg of sodium. What makes it so bad? The cheese doesn't help, the crushed Doritos sprinkled on top doesn't help and the huge hoagie roll definitely don't help either. With that amount of sodium, you've consumed enough salt for almost the next two days! The TGIF Santa Fe Chopped Salad.Don't let the term salad lead you to think this is a healthy choice. It actually has over 1200 calories and then once you add the dressing you're looking at a total of 1800 calories! it's because this salad is loaded with cheese (poor cheese gets a bad wrap on everything), greasy tortilla chips and not so lean protein toppings. Cold Stone Peanut Butter and Chocolate Shake
I love ice cream, it's the craving I get when I want something sweet. Fortunately though I am boring and love vanilla soft serve with sprinkles. Nothing fancy like this shake which has over 2,000 calories! The 153 grams of sugars don't help either, except to give you a major sugar high. This one shake is an entire days worth of calories... is it really worth it? I think not. Uno Chicago Grill Classic Deep Dish (Individual)I can't get over this, I have never had a real "Chicago-style" pizza and this helps me to realize why. It has over 2,300 calories, over 4,900 mg of salt and 54 grams of saturated fats. GROSS! Just think of how much food you could experience to hit that calorie number? THE ULTIMATE WORST FOODCheesecake Factory's Bistro Shrimp
This "thing" blows my mind. How can you take something so healthy like shrimp and turn it into this? With over 2,700 calories and 78 grams of saturated fat this tops the chart. Here is a fun fact I found from Eat This Not That... this meal has more grams of carbs than you would drink in 1 1/2 cases of Amstel Light. Wow! Thanks Cheesecake Factory to contributing to our nation's obesity crisis. I am kind of surprised, but we don't have a Cheesecake Factory here in Charleston, but living in such a tourist southern city, I am sure we have some pretty comparable foods. It's depressing really to think about it. That you can get more than day's worth of calories on one single plate!
