How Much Weight Can You Lose In A Week? The Extreme Diet

This question is something that I typically get from my clients when they have a wedding or some type of special event and they have to dress up really pretty. There is always that inherent need to lose those last 5 to 10 pounds right before the event.

So How Much Can You Lose That Fast?

I have not tried it because I don't like crash dieting, but you can probably lose 5 to 7 pounds that fast. However it will take discipline and it will not always end up the way you want.



Here's what I mean and here's what to do if you want to pull this off safely.

Warning: You should not to this because it really won't help that much. The way you look when you're 5 pounds lighter is not much different at all from the way you look now. But there are things that are very important to learn about when you are doing this.

Step 1: Cut Your Calories And Clean Your Diet

Read my article about finding your basal metabolic rate and then how many calories you approximately burn each day. This will be important. What you will do once you get this number is take off 500 calories a day.

You have to be ready because you are going to be hungry and you may not have much energy.

Then you will plan your meals and eat about 5 meals of only 250 calories or so. But these calories need to be high in fiber and protein. Good veggies are great choice too as they are low in calories and you can eat more of them.

Step 2: Take a Multivitamin

I am a big fan of taking vitamins and you should always take a multivitamin. However, it really becomes important when you are cutting your calories like this.

Step 3: Always Eat a Breakfast

You must eat a breakfast and it needs to be the biggest meal of your day. This is important to set the tone for your day. If you skip breakfast then you will get so hungry later that you'll end up scarfing down food and lots of calories at once.

Step 4: Exercise With Weight Training



You need to make sure you are using resistance training and if you can weight training for women. We need to protect your muscles as best as possible since you are not going to be feeding them enough. This is key so you can't be skipping workouts.

Be cautious if you are going to do cardio. You may not have enough energy to do intense cardio or interval training like you want.

Step 5: Be Consistent All Week

If you want to pull this off, you can't cheat. There is not cheating so you can't eat sugar or lots of carbs, or ice cream and all those things. You have to be tough.

Be Careful When You Are Done!

You have to be extremely cautious when you're done because your body will probably be affected in a negative way. Hopefully with the exercise and weight training, we gave your muscles enough so they won't break down.

But it's very possible that your metabolism is a little slower. So when you return to eating normal, you might pack on more pounds pretty quick.
