Weight Training for Women to Lose Weight: Making Muscle Means Zero Fat
Dan Boyle
It doesn't seem to really make any sense, but building lean muscle mass is the only way to destroy all of your unhealthy body fat. And the only way to build lean muscle mass if to use weight training or resistance training programs. In order to successfully get the body you want, you're going to have to do one thing... get rid of your scale. The scale and big media have programed you to think that the lower the number, the better you look. However that is not the case. Because lean muscle mass weighs more than fat, you will actually get thinner, tighter, and either stay the same weight or even get heavier. This assumes of course that you don't have TONS of fat to lose at this time. If you do have tons of fat to lose then you will still not see your weight drop... but what is dropping is your body fat. That is a really important distinction to make. So how does weight training or resistance training (which are the same) help you to lose weight? 1. Muscle Feeds on Fat EnergyYour body is constantly burning energy all day long to live. And it burns more energy when it has more lean muscle mass because muscle requires calories to stay alive. So when you use resistance training, you build lean muscle which then will feed on your extra fat stores as food... making it go away. The result is your body gets slimmer, tighter, and your energy takes a big jump up. 2. Your Metabolism IncreasesWe've already touched on this, but because you now have so much lean muscle mass, your metabolism increases drastically. That essentially means that your body burns more calories at pure rest than the typical woman. So if you restrict your calories just a little bit, your body will eat body fat all day long. Be careful though... you want to make sure that you get enough calories otherwise your muscle will begin to disappear. 3. Increased Weight LossYou get an increased weight loss, especially if you have a lot of body fat to get rid of. Even though you may not hit that 110 number or there abouts, you will lose lots of weight... and it's the best type of weight to lose. Many women who concentrate on the scale number to lose weight actually lose muscle mass which is why you see sometimes a bigger number on the scale lost. That is actually a really bad thing to have happen. Lost muscle means your metabolism slows to a snails pace and that makes your body more and more efficient at packing on body fat because it can't use all the extra calories. So those extra calories get stored as fat. Weight training for women to lose weight is the only real way to accomplish this goal. If you want to change your body then you must get a great resistance training program and you must get the support to accomplish your goals.
