The Top 10 Activities To Help You Burn More Calories & Melt More Fat
Dan Boyle
It is great; you weight train and work really hard to use the time you have at the gym work the hardest for your body. The fact of the matter is you will rest 80% of the time and you need to make sure you use that rest to it best ability. Letting your muscles rebuild lets you burn more fat and grow more muscle. Here are the top 10 activities you can do on your rest days and everyday for that fact to maximize your results. 1. Park farthest from the building Whether this is the building you work at or a building you just need to go into, park far from it. Obviously when you part that far from the building, you need to walk to it. If you just take these little bits of walking and add them up over a year, you will have walked many many miles. 2. Use the stairs This is mainly applicable when you are work, or shopping. I see it all the time… people will hop on the elevator to go up just one floor. Are you kidding me? Just walk because when you climb starts, you will burn some extra calories. And unless you are carrying a ton of bags, use the stairs when you are shopping. 3. Get up and walk around every hour If you have a job where you are sitting at a desk, get up and walk. This is really important because sitting is really bad for your hip flexor muscles. You need to walk around and stretch them out. This will also get you body's metabolism going a little bit more… ready to sit back down for the next little bit. 4. Keep your stomach sucked in while you go through your day This is pretty hard because at first, it requires conscience thought. You need to concentrate, but if you can hold you stomach in while you walk, sit, stand, and pretty much everything else… you will build stronger abdominals. You posture will also improve greatly and your lower back will be supported by your abdominals. 5. Get out and play! This is really important and requires a little imagination and spunk. Get out and play… with your spouse, kids, or by yourself. Just go play! Throw a Frisbee, football, ride your bike, swim… this will just help you get some activity and also keep you a lot happier. If you do this rather than watch TV, I guarantee you will enjoy your life a lot more. 6. Use stability ball for your chair You know what those are… go out and buy one of those very large stability balls. Take it to work or at your home office and use it for your chair. While you concentrate on holding your abs in, you will also be stabilizing yourself. This is a great work exercise making your neuromuscular system become more efficient. 7. List to music instead of TV This one is hard too, but if you consciously try to listen to music more than you watch TV you will be more productive. Not just more productivity, but you will probably find yourself dancing and moving to the music… burning calories and having fun. I guarantee that you will find more time in your day and you will start doing those things that you always wanted to. 8. 10 minute walk after work This is along the same vein as going outside to play and you can definitely substitute them. However walking after work with yourself or with your spouse can provide a great time to bond and converse. This always helps to bring you closer together. Remember to keep that stomach in and you will burn some nice calories right before you fill up at dinner. 9. Read something for 15 minutes that improves yourself One of my favorite books is by Earl Nightingale. He is a self-development genius and he said that if you take one hour a day and think how you can improve your life, nothing can hold you back. So I say to you, just read or listen to an audio program that will help you improve the way you think. If you listen to something like this enough, it will begin to ripple down to everything you do in life and improve it too. 10. Get sleep Oh yeah… that sounds great doesn't it? It is really important to get enough sleep. This will help you muscle grow, your fat burn, your brain grow, your whole self feel better. Sleep is hard to come by these days. I will admit that I do not get enough sleep because I am soooo busy. Well we can all find the time. It is just a practice of self discipline. Other Links you Might Enjoy:
