You know what muscle is, you see it when you flex, or maybe you want to see it when you flex, you see it on hot guys and you see great muscle on girls you secretly are jealous of.

But behind great muscle definition, what is going on? What so great about muscle any ways... well that's what this course is for. Learn the facts that will have you more efficient and motivated to keep up with your weight training.

Lesson 1 is all about: Your Weight And Adding Muscle

What do you think... can body fat go up when your weight if falling and falling pretty fast?

Yes it can but it is a little more complicated than just a simple yes.

First off, I bring this topic up because a very strange thing happened to me this morning. Today is the day that I have been waiting for over a month. I get the OK from my doctor to walk again without crutches... well I should get that OK.

I have been able to limp around for a couple days and have enough strength to stand up without the use of my crutches. I stepped on the scale and noticed a very strange thing...

  1. Unfortunately I have lost 12 lbs over this last month
  2. Strangely my body fat percentage went from 9% to 23%

I am pondering how this happened, but I thought it would bring up and interesting post about how this could happen. First off when you lose a lot of weight over a short period, usually your body will interpret this and go into a starvation mode. An effect of this mode is your body storing fat for the long haul. So your fat goes up.

That is what I think happened to my body... Since I could not weight train, my muscle was eaten for fuel, and my fat was increased for fuel storage. Funny though there is no visible increase in fat. So I am still a little perplexed.

If your goal is to lose weight then you will have to come with grips with one thing... eventually your weight will not go down, but you will continue to slim out.

How?

Your muscle is growing actually making your heavier, but your fat is disappearing. Fat is what you want to lose not just weight.

Up next, you know all about protein and muscle, but there are so many different proteins, which is the best protein for you?
