Public Articles: Making A Comeback... Tiger Woods Style!

Making a comeback is the element of champions that make them champions. I guess you can call it "getting back on the horse." Have you ever taken an extended break from weight training... or any training for that fact.

You seem to lose everything you have gained. Your strength, your size, it even seems that your fat starts to grow again.

That is crap!

Your fat does not come back even though you may feel like it. You do loose a little strength at least in the beginning. This happens because your body, the great adapter, was getting used to doing nothing.

Your metabolism was slowing and your muscles were not required to grow and then didn't even require any extra energy.

So how do you successfully make that comeback?

You really do have to start small. If you go big right from the starting gate, you will pay for it. Take these steps...

  1. Drop your weight by 10% for each week you take off
  2. Do just the big multi-joint exercises
  3. Add 15 extra seconds of rest
  4. Hit is hard the very next time in

You don't want to play with with too much caution... that is like playing with matches. You gain when you push it, but taking it easy will help you make that comeback harder and faster.

"The Art of Weight Lifting has helped me revamp my entire body. I stopped wasting time and got in gear and achieve more results in 1/3rd of the time I wasted running in circles." - Kindal Guthrie

"Hey Dan & Taylor! It's Jamie. I used to be a personal trainer and currently a practicing registered yoga instructor. So when you invited me to give a professional opinion of the site, I was a little skeptical. However, you guys really went above and beyond with this. That way you integrated balance & flexibility training with weight training... is the missing piece in the fitness industry. You did a great job, keep it up." - Jamie Bailey

"Dan & Taylor... Thanks for getting me back in shape before my wedding. I knew I needed help and yall had exactly what I was look for. Your workouts are so customized to me and I love the recipes you offer. I never knew eating healthy could be so easy. I feel great, look great and I know I can keep this up long after the honeymoon is over." - Lindsey W.
