These tips carry over much farther than your fitness goals, you can use them in any part of life. - Practice positive self talk. I can not talk about the power of self talk enough. It is a great motivator and confidence booster. What would happen if you stopped calling out all your negative traits and mistakes you make and start pointing out the great things about yourself. It is hard to do and takes practice because we have negative thoughts engrained into our heads. Just practice each morning by looking in the mirror and saying 5 positive things about you and the day ahead. Then throughout the day try to whey out the negative thoughts, Practice not using the word "can't" or "no". It takes time but you can become a positive thinker.
- Don't be satisfied. This is the reason people settle. They become satisfied or think they are satisfied with that they have accomplished. They are either too lazy or don't believe in themselves to go any further. There is always a new point you can get to. If you go from A to B then you can go to C. Always push yourself.
- Don't be afraid. This is harder said than done. But do not be afraid of trying something new. Successful entrepreneurs are where they are because they take chances. They leave the comfort zone and instead of saying "I wish I could…" they say "I am going to …" When it comes to fitness you have those that talk about losing weight and those that actually do it. The first group is afraid of failure while they other group knows what can come out of their achievements and faces their fears.
- No more hiding. Stop hiding in the shadows, trying to go unnoticed. You have to make a big statement if you want to try something new and exciting. Tell people about your goals, this holds you accountable and will motivate you more to reach them. Things are not going to happen on their own, you have to take the initiative to better yourself.
- Do not conform to those around you. Stop listening to what your friends and family tell you that you should do. Do what you want to do, even if that means taking a plunge into new and unknown territory.
Did you know that hanging out with obese friends raises your risk of obesity? You don't have to end up like your peers, decide to make a healthy lifestyle. They may find it hard or be jealous but if they become overly jealous then they aren't great friends. - Make time for you. Having "me time" gives you the chance to collect your thoughts, brainstorm ideas and plan out what you want to do and how. I recommend that each person have at least 15 minutes of "me time" per day. If that means waking up early or eating lunch by yourself then do it. You will fee less anxious and more determined by having this time.
- Be a virus. Share your new thinking with others. Positive and successful thinking is very contagious, and so is negative thinking. So spread your positive and motivational personality on to others. They will pick it up and you will have less negativity in your life. Both people come out on top! You do not have to be forceful at sharing your ideals but just carrying yourself in a more positive light will grab the attention of those around you. You will become Mr/Ms Popular!
These are the traits and tips that separate those that grow very successful in all aspects of their lives to the normal, every day person. Do not become an everyday person. You should always be looking to improve yourself. Trust me, no one is perfect and no one should be completely satisfied with all aspects of their lives.
