What happens after you have reached your fitness goals? Most fitness success stories end very tragically... with the exercise dying off and most people grabbing again for the fast food burger.

Don't end like this... keep your results going strong for life. It is an easy lifestyle that will have your energy up, your health improved and your body looking amazing for years to come.

The first lesson here, is how to incorporate your significant other into the lifestyle. It is really hard for yourself and your partner if you are on extreme ends of the spectrum.

Get Your Significant Partner Into Fitness

|image1|You have pushed yourself and worked incredibly hard for the past months to get those last few pounds off and looked toned and great. You are now serious about a lifestyle filled with weight training and a healthy diet, but there is one problem.

If you were with someone with the same healthy outlooks as you, you would be coming home to Ryan Reynolds, but in reality your significant other has recently started to resemble Jack Black.

This is classic.

One partner takes the steps to look amazing but the other lags behind. This can be a serious problem, adding stress, jealously and anger to many relationships. But it doesn't have to.



Having a partner that shares the same fitness lifestyle helps you stay on track and often will push you further in your goals. On top of your own personal motivation you have someone else in your corner pushing you through and vice versa. So its completely natural that you would love to have someone who takes care of himself and takes pride in his body as you do yours.

It is often hard to stay on track of you go out to eat with your man and he orders a cheese pizza and you sit quietly eating your garden salad with vinaigrette dressing.

Trying to talk to your partner on this subject can be very touchy. Chances are he has already noticed the great changes in you and feels insignificant and undesirable to you. So it is important to introduce the idea of increased fitness and nutrition in a safe manner. Here are some great tips for getting your man off his tush and into a healthier, more compatible lifestyle.

  • Bonding Time: Invite him casually to the gym and use the excuse that you need a workout partner and would really love if he would join you. Also address that is a great activity to do together since you are both always so busy. If it works out well, keep the bonding time going. He will get used to the gym time and become a regular.
  • The Blame Game: You work really hard to eat healthy but the temptations in the house hold you back from ultimate success. So use the excuse that you can't handle it all. Clean out the fattening, sugar packed foots and keep only your healthy foods in the house. Make sure to point out healthy foods that he would love that sufficiently appeals to his sweet tooth. It is ok to discuss the benefits of healthy eating for the both of you.
  • No eating out: No more focusing on activities that center around food, find things to do outside to get you moving. Hiking, biking, walking, kayaking, etc. Why do most dates have to involve going out to dinner. Be creative and find more ways to spend one on one time together.
  • Compliment him: He may be feeling self-conscious about having a hot and fit girlfriend since he is not in the best of shape. So compliment him often to let him know how much you love him.
  • Honesty Is Still The Best Policy: If he is unhealthy and "fluffy" around the middle explain to him your concerns and how much it would mean to you if he began taking better care of himself. Life is short and you want to make sure to keep him going for as long as possible!
  • Motivate: Make sure to give positive feedback and motivation that they can use to get into shape and meet their goals. Show them how to get started; you have been there once.

Your partner has to see the potential within themselves to get serious but you can help. Be supportive and loving and positive results will quickly come.

If you can make it through this revolutionary period the relationship will surely feel stronger and healthier.
