Hitting Your Goals And Learning To Be The Best You Lesson 2 Aside from Weight Lifting mixed with a splash of cardio, yoga is the next exercise program you need to add. Yoga can be done by anyone. It doesn't matter if you have never touched your toes or stood on your head. That's what makes it so great, the flexibility of yoga to accommodate all participants (to pun intended). We all have heard that yoga is great for relaxation and breathing but the benefits go way beyond any of that. Just look at Madonna or Jennifer Aniston, both women use yoga for their prime workouts and they couldn't look any more amazing. I have very little down time and I find it hard to relax when I do find some. That's why I love yoga. I get the opportunity to really concentrate on my body and me. It's a time where I can be selfish because its all about me. That's what yoga is about. I find that the best time to do yoga is either first thing in the morning or at night about an hour or two before bed. Morning yoga helps to get the blood flowing and helps awaken my body for the day ahead.

Yoga - refreshing and makes you feel like a million bucks. Definitely great to add to weight lifting.

At night, I get relaxed and unwind after a tense day. I instantly feel my shoulders relax and I am always surprised about how tense my body has gotten throughout the day. One thing I suggest with yoga is to find a program that works for you. There are tons of different yoga videos and classes ranging from relaxation, power, strength, flexibility and even some designed for a particular lifestyle. Chances are you will not love them all and since this is all about you, find one you do love. For example, when I was in college I took a yoga course. It was more like naptime and much of the class involved "hugging" an exercise ball. I was much too bored by this and had to go run right after every class. Still not sold on yoga? Here are just a few benefits you can expect from buying a $10 Rodney Lee DVD (my favorite) or taking advantage of your gym's yoga classes. - Muscle toning - Detox the body (increase blood flow = decrease body toxins) - Increase flexibility - Increase joint health - Message body ORGANS (that's right body organs) - Increase energy (no need for Red bulls, get your own wings) - Decrease resting heart rate - Increase balance - Improve posture - Fight the aging, the natural fountain of youth - Improve sex - Reduce anxiety - Lose weight And the list continues on with helping to treat dozens of health conditions, aches and pains, etc. If you have tried yoga in the past and felt it wasn't for you, you probably just did not have a program that fit you. I suggest giving it a try with different programs. 1 will surely be around that fits you to a T and will have you feeling relaxed and strong. Yoga is one, if not the only exercise that I actually promote using a DVD program... besides the ones we have coming out soon! (haha... shameless plug). They are not expensive and you can do hard routines in the privacy of your home. Extra Article Conversations
